• Expanded Car Club Square packed with marque experts and enthusiasts  
• Owners of Aston Martins, Ferraris, Jaguars, Lamborghini and MGs out in force 
• Special exhibits include Princess Diana’s XJS and rare V8-engined Capri

Next week’s London Classic Car Show (15-18 February) will be the biggest and best yet. Highlighting the superb retro event’s spiralling growth, an unprecedented number of enthusiastic motoring clubs will all be exhibiting at ExCeL London.

Many of the top marques – including Audi, BMW, Corvette, Lamborghini, Mercedes, Porsche and Rover – will be well represented within an expanded Car Club Square with many showcasing standout models on their bespoke displays.

As previously announced, the Jaguar XJS Club will be presenting a unique XJ-S Cabriolet specially commissioned for Diana, Princess of Wales. Produced in 1983, this illustrious XJ-S comes with a pair of small rear seats for her two young Princes, William and Harry.

The TVR Club is also celebrating open top motoring, marking an important milestone in the Blackpool-based sportscar company’s history. It’s now 40 years since the launch of the company’s first convertible, the TVR 3000S, in 1978. Likewise, the theme of the Bristol Owners’ Club dazzling display will be ‘dropheads’ with a pair of rarely seen one-off models under the spotlight on its noteworthy stand.

The Kent branch of the Ferrari Owners’ Club has big plans, too. It will be flaunting a totally original 288GTO plus a mint Boxer BBi, one of only 42 right-hand-drive imported to the UK.

Another very special supercar – albeit a contemporary classic – will take pole position on the mouth-watering Aston Martin Owners Club display. It is one of a limited edition of just ten Vanquish S RAF Red Arrows models commissioned to raise awareness and donations for the RAF Benevolent Fund.

Those with a passion for all things Ford will also be out in force. The RS Owners Club is celebrating 50 years of the MK1 Escort Twin Cam while the Capri Mk1 Owners’ Club three very special models, topped by a very scarce South African produced Capri Perana powered by a 5.0-litre V8 engine sourced from the contemporary Ford Mustang.

With a reputed membership numbering more than any other single marque car club in the world, it is no surprise to see a sizable MG Owners’ Club presence in Car Club Square. Its display will include the famous ex-factory MGB that Paddy Hopkirk and Andrew Hedges raced at Le Mans in 1965. More recently the car (DRX 255C) was owned by renowned MG stalwart Barry Sidery-Smith who sadly passed away last summer. As a fitting tribute to him, the iconic MGB will be returning to Le Mans in June.
